Hard Rock Cafe is one such collector with the largest musical memorabilia on the planet with over 70000 precious pieces from the World of music. Gifted by rock 'n' roll icons, the priceless souvenirs features anything from a musician’s lock of hair to a Frank Sinatra’s gold-plated AKG microphone. A yellow coloured Guitar is the recent piece of pride gracing the illustrious collection, which is present at the Hard Rock Café on St. Mark’s Road. This guitar was presented at the Kingfisher Summer Storm 2012 by none other than Mikael Kerfeldt, the lead vocalist and the guitarist of the Opeth, the famous Swedish Metal band. The guitar was a part of the bands, many metallic head banging gigs, which have rendered musical tracks, such as The Lotus Eater ,Porcelain Heart, Ghost of Perdition, Bleak, Demon of the Fall and many more. The band combines metal, classic rock, folk and free form jazz. Diners with a metallic streak are sure to enjoy this musical tryst through the guitar.

Gnarl is a three piece rock band from Hyderabad. Gnarl’s music ranges from heavy rock guitars to powerhouse drumming.

It was just a feeling at first. One moment, one stage, one night, at a high school concert in Hyderabad. That moment marked the beginning of a thought process that led to the creation of something that has impacted a number of lives. Many nights, disappointments and accomplishments later, the three members of Gnarl sit before me, the fire burning bright in their eyes.

One Nite Stand is a Bangalore-based band, comprising

Behram(Vocals/Bass Guitar),

Hemanth (Guitars),

Neville (Piano) and

Abhilash (Drums).

A journey that began back at the end of 2009, but is nowhere near coming to an end, One Nite Stand are growing in stature with each passing day. Known for their lively and energetic performances, this is a band that is now recognized as one of Bangalore’s most touted young bands.

Depending on the venue and requirements, their shows cover a variety of genres ranging from Soft Rock to Rock n’ Roll, throwing in some Reggae mixed with a little Contemporary and some Retro, a touch of Blues, a shout of Pop and even a bit of some thumping Disco! The crowd and fan following that they have slowly but steadily built up over the years is also widely varied, with people being anything between 16 and 70 years, and the after-effect of most shows is usually a number of encores, resulting in a One Night Stand that's totally worth it.

Known to bring an original twist into each track, the band never fails to surprise an audience and ensures that they stay hooked right through the show!

After having a good amount of experience and a good number of shows under their belt, the guys from Bangalore are always looking to push for more! One Nite Stand plays regularly at clubs around Bangalore like Hard Rock Café, Fireflies, Kyra Theatre, Opus, Opus in The Creek, Herbs and Spice, Love Shack, UB City, Bacchus, F&B, Take 5, Paparazzi, Pebbles, Gayatri Vihar, Palace Grounds, etc. and also in cities across India.

In addition to the above concerts, the band has also played at two of Bangalore’s leading girls’ colleges. Usually, a band that calls itself One Nite Stand might not be the ideal choice to play at a girls’ educational institute but this explains the rising number of female fans the band has developed over the last one year.

Besides the club shows around the country, the band is always looking to perform at parties, events, pre / post wedding parties, etc and are slowly building up a good reputation for this as well. Companies such the UB Group, Kingfisher, Black Dog, Red Bull, Jameson’s Whiskey, Absolut Vodka and Pearls to name a few.

Their first major gigs include sharing the stage with Australian Cricket Superstar, Brett Lee, The White Shoe Theory and Lucky Ali. Along with these, the band constantly performs at corporate and wedding parties as well as being chosen to play at the prelude to The Great Indian Octoberfest , an event where only the leading artists from around the country like Neha Bhasin, Shaan, DJ Aqeel & DJ Pearl to name a few, as well as some International acts like Lacuna Coil & Bedouin Soundclash are chosen to play each year!

One Nite Stand recently headlined 2 major music festivals in India including the United By Music V10, which included sharing the stage with the world famous Chicane(UK), known for their collaborations with Sir Tom Jones and Bryan Adams and the Pin Drop Music Festival, which was held at UB City and included Dj Ma Faiza and Playboy Supermodel Virag Voksan aka DJ Flower. The band played at the Premier of Shah Rukh Khan’s movie Ra.One and at the Launch of the Sandalwood (Kannada) Film Industry’s Moonlight Theatre at Bangalore’s Palace Grounds . The band also recently headlined the Bangalore International Midnight Marathon Festival, in Dec. 2011, which had an attendance of over 10,000 people.

One Nite Stand has also headlined the Mount Carmel Girls’ College Festival – Cul Ah 2012, which was attended by thousands of screaming female fans - A definite sign of the band’s growing popularity with female audiences across the country.

Despite being primarily a cover band, One Nite Stand has become the first Indian band to have caught the attention of a leading record label from the United States and are now looking to take things a step further. The band is now in the process of recording their debut album, which will include some songs written and composed by the band itself. The aim is to get an even better response for this album and hopefully one day in the near future, push on to the International level. The band will be on their first International Tour comprising 8 overseas gigs within a span of just 12 days in March 2012.

Faridkot is a Hindi rock band based out of New Delhi. The band is well known for their mix of pop vocals, bluesy guitar playing, funk bass lines, melodic (and sometimes pompous) electronic layers combined together in a heap of musical endeavors that they like to call their own. Sometimes in love, sometimes trying to be funny and a little more loving, the band likes to play good music which might transcend the individual inspirations that each musician bring forth.

BLAKC started of in 2005 when Shawn (vocals) and Anish (guitars) started jamming in St. Xavier‟s College. 2006 saw Roop and Shishir join the band on bass and drums respectively. In 2007, the final lineup change was Reinhardt on guitars. Since then we have played over 80 shows and competitions across ten cities in India. Shows with 50 people to shows with over 3,000 people like in Indore, Kanpur, Pune, Ahmedabad, Assam and Delhi.

BLAKC is only about two things, the music and the fans. Our music enables us to connect with an audience whether big or small. We have a brilliant show if we know the audience has enjoyed themselves with us. We only play our own music and have released our first album entitled „Choking On A Dream‟. The album has sold over 800 copies and has received some great reviews from HT café, HT Times and Rolling Stone with more to come.

BLAKC has always made an effort to keep in touch with our fans through the internet. Today BLAKC is reaching close to 9000 fans on Facebook, 27,000 hits on our online music profiles and is the #3 Alternative band in India and #1 in Mumbai on ReverbNation. Something Relevant aka STR was formed in 2003 on a basketball court.

Though for purposes of entirely official nature, we like to categorize Fire Exit as a band that plays “Progressive Alternative Rock”, we truly believe that it falls in the category of bands that are almost impossible to categorize under one single genre of music. Our music is a combination of rock, metal and electronic sounds. The band essentially blends great vocal melody along with instrument harmony, and is based on experimentation with varied time signatures, jazz-influenced bass-lines and an Indian percussion instrument. But at the same time, we like to keep our music simple. As a group of musicians brewing our styles together, we also lay equal focus on the way we “sound” live and on record, giving importance to not just what we play, but also how all that playing comes together and mixes when it comes out on speakers; hence immense stress is laid on the production of our tracks. Our focus as a band is to create a sound unique to the band, with varied styles of rock, metal and psychedelia coming together for great listening pleasure to both the common listener and other musicians. We lay stress on improving our songwriting and playing as we grow together as a band, looking to create mature and sensible music.

So it’s a late Thursday evening sometime in August 2011 and the buzz is back. They’re musicians. Sid is back from the UK, Craig is now a dad and Hudstin is on his way to meet up with both of them. The three proceed to exchange a few pleasantries but are all bursting at the seams to hunt down this Rock n’ Roll dream. Their faces seem to have changed since they last saw each other; they now wear a f...ew extra scars. “Lets give it one last shot” one of them says, “Yea, lets see where it goes”. The momentary eyeballing follows, confirming that they’re still the wild-eyed maniacs they once were. The three men stand silently wrapped in a deep sense of understanding and awareness. The deed is done. There is a storm brewing. This one is called The Captains Of Hook.

Initially, Fahrenheit was a three piece band. Since its mad, manic school days, it has gone through several changes and has become one of the most successful bands in the city. It presently has six members.

We believe that we should be remembered for our own music rather than a 'covers band.' We therefore give a lot of importance to our own sound which is unique. We will be recording soon.

Our music is characterized by a strong presence of keyboards (Ryan) with varying time signatures on the drums (Vinyl). Guitars are characterized by some slick solos, riffs and dual lead (Edward and Geeth). Bass lines are prominent (Jayson) and involve various styles. Vocals (Akshay) too vary in style and range.

We have a lot of experience in playing at shows as well as competitive events. Talking about shows, Fahrenheit is the only rock band to have performed at the famous Bangalore Habba. Other prominent shows include, The Indian Tennis Federation BANGALORE OPEN, the Bangalore MIDNIGHT MARATHON and the JUNE ROCK OUT. We have also performed and competed at shows and events in cities like Chennai and Delhi.

Apart from our own music we cover bands like Dream Theater, Deep Purple, Bon Jovi, Andromeda, Rush, Iron Maiden, Europe, The Scorpions, Van Halen and Queensryche, to name some.

Pinknoise is an Experimental Rock band from Kolkata, formed in 2006. The quartet comprises members of popular Kolkata rock act Skinny Alley. The band's music blends various influences including nu-jazz and electronica and the music which the band plays is difficult to categorize. The musicians have many diverse influences from Miles Davis and Weather Report to the industrial revolution and the movement of bees. The influences come together with an emphasis on texture rather than genre. Because of their relentless experimentation, PINKNOISE is generally considered to be one of the most innovative but often infuriating live acts.

About the music: we firmly believe that complex music can be appreciated by the average listener; and our aim is to negate the 'complex music is heavy on the ears' stereotype. Our music is hence is mixture of funk, progressive and classic styles; with the common element being the melodic content.

Grey Shack comprises of a bunch of comics who enjoy inebriation. Sorry, music. The brainchild of Vikram, Rohan and Tomojit, Grey Shack was formed sometime in mid-July 2007, after which they went on to play gigs (read competitions) in and around the wonderfully wonderful city of Chennai. Underground 2007 hosted by The Unwind Centre provided Grey Shack with a launchpad to showcase their music, and t...he band ended up winning the competition, making their presence felt in the Chennai circuit very early on. More competitions followed, and only recently have Grey Shack started playing gigs. Their music is an eclectic mix of Rock N' Roll, Grunge, Funk and Blues, thus, the non-conformity to stick to a particular genre. The members draw their influences from numerous acts, which only adds to versatility of Grey Shack's music. So sit back, pop a beer (or anything more suited to your well-being) and listen up.

‘All The Fat Children’, a seemingly humorous, yet unique name reflects openness that the band believes in wholeheartedly.

They personally believe in and emphasize original music, with the occasional cover which is also recreated to produce a different version of the song. This has enabled them to showcase their ability to satisfy the audience with a refreshing sound.

Formed in 2008, they have been playing as many shows as possible, winning consistently wherever it was classified a competition and headlining many shows and corporate events, basically „sending it‟ all over India.

Genre

The band can be considered an Alternative Rock band, but they prefer the newly created term of “Fat Rock” a fitting genre encompassing the diversity of music that is reflected in its three members.

Some of the band‟s own songs include: My Favorite Heartbreaker, Crazy Girlfriend, Pimple Disco, November Forever, Somebody Else, El Shaddai (“The Almighty” in Hebrew) and many more.

The quintessential frontman of the band, Eben has been writing songs since he can remember. He always has the crowd singing along to his catchy songs and have them laughing till it hurts, by his humor; as well as shaking to the groove of the music to let the audience know its good to let loose.

His influences include: Breaking Benjamin, As I Lay Dying, Metallica, Demon Hunter, POD, Bullet For My Valentine, Nickelback, Machine Head, and Theory of a Deadman.

Vickram Kiran – Bass Guitar/Vocals

Riding the lower end of the musical spectrum for the last 9 years, Vicky as he is usually known is the foundation of the band and stomps and jumps around the stage to get the audience in the mood. He constantly experiments to find new ways to keep the sound full while balancing a full course of intense stage presence.

His love of experimentation is also influenced by Motherjane, another band he works for.

His influences include: Dream Theater, Indus Creed, Motherjane, Avial, Iron Maiden, Queensryche, Neil Peart, Mike Portnoy, Dave Weckl, Thomas Lang, Tim Yeung and Jo Jo Mayer.

Nikhil's past

Nikhil's early days in the music scene of New-Delhi mainly picked up with him being the only one, playing a great number of shows paying tribute to Elvis. With an increasing demand he even made several appearances on the television and radio programs such as NDTV, Headlines Today and many other channels.

In order to save himself from the stereo type he left the doorstep of fame and walked down the road for a struggling musician in search of himself. The road got him to travel to Boston and attended Berklee College of music for three semesters. Due to Lack of funds and the stress mechanism of a school, Nikhil only continued his visits to Boston interacting and playing with great musicians namely Phil Kaplan, Dave Fox, Swen Larson, Lexi Havlin, Jesus Cardoso and many others. While in India, he continued playing drums for a latin/jazz setup by the name of Cuenta Cuentos and singing sessions for recording projects for different ads and musicals. Nikhil has also spent a great deal of time teaching even through a busy performing schedule.

The members of Hipnotribe are all heroes on their respective instruments. Kurt Peters is the prodigal drummer son of jazz legend Karl Peters. Abhijit Nalani on keyboards is the guy behind most of the bollywood smash hits! He is also a master funker! Sankarshan Kini(Shanks) plays countless instruments (guitar, keyboards, flute, violin etc...Phew!). Sanket Athale, also the youngest in the band, is the percussion guru or 'Tablaman' as he likes to be called. And with Tejasvi Raoon the mixer, the band has the kind of sound that confuses people into thinking that it could be a CD playing!

Mohit Chauhan is an Indian singer who started his career, singing pop songs with the Silk Route (band). He is known for his soft romantic voice, often comparable to Japanese rock musician Miyavi. He has recently been part of a reality series called Mission Ustaad on the channel 9X.

Born in the September of 2011, VRAVI GUITAR FUSION was an idea whose time had come. The solo project is an honest attempt at extracting a completely pure and traditional sound out of the guitar while making it the protagonist of the act. Trading complex chordal harmonies for more Indian bends, Vravi is all about sound straight from the soul - just the way traditional music has been. It is a daunting task to write an introduction of a band like Sonic Flare. Simply because, over the years, it has had many beginnings. So may be it makes sense to start at the very beginning.

Let me take you back to the time in the mid 90s when Neeraj and Jongky were wandering aimlessly around the streets of Tumkur as engineering students. For the folks who do not know, Tumkur is a little town tucked away in the back of beyond. Due to a serious lack of social life and also potential eye candy, they decided to engage themselves in something more serious and less frivolous than an obtaining an engineering degree. In time, they became a part of the college band which shot their stud status to dizzying heights – in Tumkur, that is.

A few years later, a scrawny pimple faced teenager sauntered in to the same college. The young and impressionable Ajit was captivated with the demigod status of Neeraj and Jongky – in Tumkur, that is. He was determined; he wanted some of the action for himself. Ajit went on to form a band of his own, and soon another band was thrown in the face of the hapless, unsuspecting engineering students of Tumkur.

Unfortunately you can only take so many years to complete an engineering degree, however hard you try. Four years later, they came out of college armed with an engineering degree in one hand and a guitar in the other. It soon became obvious to them that the degree had more weight and thus music was put on the backburner for a while as they got busy in their respective jobs.

Soon enough, to the shock and dismay of no one in particular, the monotony of a ‘regular job’ set in. And what else did they do but turn to music. This was the second beginning. Martin an old friend from another engineering college in Tumkur (where else) joined the trio as vocalist. A massive hunt for a drummer was launched via advertisements on the internet. Elaborate auditions were planned for the anticipated response.Only one person queued up outside the house for the job. Needless to say, he was selected. And thus,Vinay Raghavan aka Vinay,Vinnie,Rags made his grand entry and Sonic Flare was born. This was 2002.

The band began jamming in Neeraj’s house regularly when Martin moved out of the city for professional reasons. And you would think that this long story comes to an end here. Alas!! No such joy. Yet another beginning right here! Vinay roped in Saurabh as the vocalist and in a few years time, the band carved a name and space for itself in Bangalore. Things were finally falling in place when suddenly Saurabh decided to take a break from the band to pursue an MBA. This was circa 2009.

Vinay, in the short span of five long years, had assumed the position of problem solver, manager, gig magnet, carpet duster and the like. With his vast network, he was able to convince the young and effervescent Priyanka to join the band as a guest vocalist till the time that Saurabh got back. Priyanka apart from hugely shifting the average age of the band to the right side of 30, managed to infuse a new freshness to the sound of the band. Soon enough, the band had a huge fan following and were performing in prime venues in Bangalore. Rags soon roped in Nikhil as a vocalist to perform with the band. Apart from further shifting the average age to the right side of 30, Nikhil brought in a new zest to the band. Needless to say, Sonic Flare as it stands now is getting more and more popular with the crowds and the road ahead surely looks promising.

You would think that this long story would end here, right? Wrong. Sonic Flare has just begun!

Having started off with Western Classical and Broadway at the age of 8, Sherry Mathews went on to perform at various platforms in and around India. He has been part of Artistes Unlimited since it's initiation and has sung back up vocals for Delhi based bands Advaita and Them Clones to name a few. He currently is the lead vocalist for Cobbled Street, a Jazz-Funk band and The Doppler Effect, a Progressive Rock band.

'The Echoes’ is an outcome of a brilliantly discussed idea over a table of beers. ‘The Echoes’ were formed in the year 2005 with a vision to be one of India’s leading bands known for their brilliant original compositions. At the time the listener base was opening up to the idea of Original English music by an Indian Band. The challenge was trying to utilize this opportunity to create their own sound and continue to increase the patronization of the existing & growing listener base. Instead of going gung-ho about participating in competitions and constantly doing free shows with a hope of getting some recognition, The Echoes took a different route. They visualized themselves to be a professional band and functioned like one from the very first day.

They would pitch to pubs and restaurants around Mumbai and Pune for paid gigs. The cash registers started ringing slowly but steadily, and word started doing the round as the bands popularity started to grow. The increase in fan base and great reviews ensured the band many more regular gigs. Since then, ‘The Echoes’ have performed at Corporate Shows and played at leading venues in Mumbai, Pune and Hyderabad among others. ‘The Echoes’ had a plan for their music too. Since the crowd that visited pubs and restaurants were more inclined to covers, they started out as a jam band. They’d play a well known cover and improvise the song with their own style and touch - sometimes compose lines impromptu and skillfully add them in the song.

They also played really rare covers of famous bands. The non - commercial nature of the songs and good renditions were welcomed by the regular audience. This paved the way for ‘The Echoes’ to slip in and surprise them with their originals. It wasn’t up until the year 2008, when cost effective recording opportunities came about and ‘The Echoes’ decided to record their debut album, ‘Stitched’. As the band would like to put it- “Stitched relates to the sewing movement that binds together each moment and feeling to bring forth a finished product – the garment of life.” The album got rave reviews by all musicians who heard it before release and EMI Music came onboard to mass-produce and distribute the album worldwide.

The Echoes had their album launch in March 2010 at Hard Rock Cafe Mumbai to a packed crowd of music lovers! The band went on to continue promoting at other Hard Rock Cafes in the country with following gigs at Hard Rock in Pune and Hard Rock in Hyderabad. The band regularly performs at Pizza By The Bay (formerly ‘Not Just Jazz By the Bay’) and Hard Rock Cafe Mumbai. The band believes in delivering high quality entertainment and an unforgettable experience for the listeners and is always up for a performance, no matter what the occasion!

Supervibe was formed on August 5th 2010, a result of a Blues & Jazz Vocalist meeting up with an Alternative Funk Guitarist, a Punk Rock Bassist and a Rock Drummer. With an experience of a decade performing with various acts and venues, the four came together with a purpose to bring back some groovy music.

Supervibe cannot be classified to a specific genre because of our varied influence, but on insistence we can be defined as an Alternative/Funk band.

‘Phoenix’ performing at Hard Rock Cafe Hyderabad on Thursday January, 19th!

Phoenix is a classic rock act from Hyderabad. With a unique sound of classic rock mixed with reggae.

A mythical bird that is a fire spirit builds itself a nest of twigs that then ignites; both nest and bird burn fiercely and are reduced to ashes, from which a new, young phoenix arises, reborn anew to live again.

This signifies the choice of the name for the band which has members from prominent bands, current and past, reborn anew to bring life to Classic Rock and Reggae, genres favored most by the pub going crowd of Hyderabad; also staying true to the band member’s musical roots.

The Family

Badri: A truly versatile musician who has the ability to play any instrument, finally settled on the drums, as the original drummer of Alteregoz, now as the mainstay on the skins for Phoenix. Has been Hyderabad’s best known drummer for over 20 years.

Keith: Lead guitarist for the band, also has played with known bands like Stratus, Alteregoz, and Street Lethal. He works as a live/sessions musician for the south Indian music fraternity and has performed with various music directors like Ramana Gogula and Nihal.

Ruben: a hectic lifestyle of vocals in Bangalore had him seeking quieter pastures; Hyderabad brought the urge to sing back and Phoenix was waiting to cradle him back to rebirth.

Ankita: Vocals her forte, also plays keyboard among the many other instruments. Also works as a music teacher in a school.

Lokhi: Never say die attitude at 56 has seen him form the best bands Hyderabad has known. Bass guitarist for over 20 years for bands including Katalog, 40 year itch and Alteregoz, his one wish is to play bass till he is buried in his bass guitar case.

Pranati: Rhythm guitarist for the band gives the support required. She has also played with known bands like white noise.

The members of the band have a natural love, feel and strength in performing Classic Rock and Reggae with a vast song list that features the best recording artists known.

‘Cyanide’ performing at Hard Rock Cafe New Delhi on Thursday, January 19th!

The band was formed in 2002 while each of its members were still in school. Over the years as they progressed through school and college competitions and evolving line-ups, they managed to develop a decent fan base. After playing numerous shows in many different venues, their original music started to become quite popular amongst their audience.

As the band is known for it’s foot-tapping guitar riffs and melodic pop choruses, the word of their music began to spread.

In 2007, they were one of the 4 finalists in Channel [V] Launchpad, where they played in front a crowd of almost 10,000. Ever since then, they played at numerous prestigious music festivals such as 'The Eastwind Festival' and “The Great Indian Rock Festival”. In the summer of 2008, they played a country wide tour where they played in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Calcutta, Simla ... to name a few.

Earlier this year, they signed with 44G Records and released an EP (Exptended Play) titled 'Not over yet' in the month of April, which is being downloaded through out the country and has managed to maintain the band’s No.1 position on the 'Reverbnation Charts.'

As of now, they working on a full scale album, which will be released later this year on the same record label.

‘Solder’ performing at Hard Rock Cafe Bangalore on Thursday, January 19th!

Solder is a Bangalore based band which was born with the intent of writing feel good songs, and belting them out “Live and Loud”

The Indian sub-continent over the past decade has been nestling an independent music scene, and in 2009 Bangalore gave us SOLDER. Siddarth Abraham, Mark Escottee, Akhilesh Kumar, Joel Rozario and Samson Phillip got together by forces which they now like to call destiny, and started making music almost randomly, and Bangalore saw a band that played their music “Live and Loud” and contributing their two bits to the independent music movement on India.

With a line-up at equilibrium and a defined sound, the gigs and the competitions (runners up Strawberry Fields 2009, Bangalore Winners of Yamaha Asian Beats 2010, Bangalore Winners of Channel V Launchpad 2011) kept coming and with it Solder developed a reputation of being electric, energetic and fun on stage. The Solder show is like one big party, completely informal, with the feel good vibe, bringing the house down with funk, soul, rock and twenty-something energy. And with this passion for music and their ability to connect with their audiences, Solder started winning over fans at every gig they’ve played, and made audiences feel the vibe that they call “Live and Loud”!!

Often described as a unit of five drifters glued together by music, Solder was born with the intent of writing feel good songs, and belting them out “Live and Loud”. Their story started when two friends Mark Escottee and Joel Rozario, who then just disbanded a funk project they were part of, got together over a few drinks (or maybe a few more) and started talking about their music, and the need to start a new music project, which was to be later known to the world as Solder. They were joined by Akhilesh Kumar, a friend from University. Then one day Akhilesh got with him his kickboxing instructor Siddarth Abraham who had fronted a few bands that had their roots in classic rock to the jam room and Sid belted out whatever was written till then in his voice, the voice was awesome, the chemistry was super, and all systems were go, but they still lacked the low end or more commonly called the bass section. This was soon solved when Joel saw Samson Phillip at a local gig and invited him over to the jam room, when he came by we got our very own agent of funk and the line-up was complete. And might we add, PERFECT.

Now with all the varied influences bouncing off each other, Solder slowly created a sound space underlined by groove and layered with vocal melodies and harmonies, accompanied by screaming guitar licks and reverb laden drum sounds.

With their debut album in the pipeline, SOLDER will try and re-create the “Live and Loud” vibe on record, and when it does release we can all play it on loop and smile, and make the world a happy place.

Wit's End is a classic rock outfit that plays primarily mainstream rock from the 70's and 90's eras. Originally known as Pythagoras & The Right Angles (formed in 1991), The band reunited as One Night Stand in May 2003 as a result of a chain mail sent by MTV looking out for professional rock bands who could be part of a classic rock jam session for a particular event. The gig was well received with an overwhelming response. Aimed to be a One Night Stand in its true sense, the band had no intentions of doing anything together seriously. But after the gig everyone in the band realized the potential and decided to carry forward this wonderful effort. Since every member has been with the band for a long time and were already professional musicians, the sound was always tight and the vibes on stage were fantastic.

The band has performed at the IRON MAIDEN - FLIGHT 666 Promo Night on 27th April 2009 at Firangi Paani, Andheri, Mumbai.

Apart from the above, the band since 1991 has participated and won in major rock competitions. The band has performed all around India including the I-Rock, Rock against Drugs festivals in the city. The band also opened for Apache Indian in his 4-city tour of India and has also opened for the New Zealand rock band Supergroove. As One Night Stand, the band has performed at the YPO festival in Goa that was attended by India‟s leading businessmen including Dr. Vijay Mallya, Anil & Mukesh Ambani, Rajdeep Sardesai, Gautam Singhania etc.

The band has actively supported good causes and has performed at festivals supporting Anti-Drugs and also twice at the Rush of Blood – Blood Donation Camps organized by the Bombay Rock Association.

The Influences, The Genre & The Songs:
One of the key factors keeping the band together is the common classic rock influences that each member has grown up listening to. Some of the major bands and artists that the band reveres include The Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Ozzy Osbourne, Iron Maiden, Dire Straits, Van Halen, The Doors and Jimi Hendrix, to name a few. One Night Stand is a complete classic rock covers band and it primarily covers rock bands across the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s from easy going songs by Pink Floyd and Dire Straits to the harder songs by Van Halen, Deep Purple, Ozzy Osbourne and Iron Maiden and everything else in between! The aim is simple: “We play to entertain!”

BAND MEMBERS:

Sarosh – Lead & Rhythm Guitars, Vocals
Sarosh is one of the finest and leading guitarists in India and has played with the likes of Trilok Gurtu, Dr. L Subramaniam, Billy Cobham, Jean Luc Ponty, Larry Coryell, Asha Bhosle, Shaan and Shankar Ehsaan Loy to name a few. He started learning the guitar at the age of seven, under the expert guidance of Salvador Cardozo; and has participated in, and won several instrumental and vocal competitions at the university level as a student. His professional career as a musician began in 1997, and he has come a long way since then. He currently also tours with Shaan. He is registered with the International Guitar Registry, California as a music teacher and imparts his knowledge and guidance to many aspiring musicians in the city. He is also working as a music composer and has worked on many ads & jingles. Sarosh‟s major influences include Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Mark Knopfler, Ritchie Blackmore and Steve Morse. Sarosh‟s virtuoso guitar playing form the backbone of the band and his vocals on the Pink Floyd & Dire Straits songs come as a refreshing change of mood in the band‟s rocking set-list.

Padmanabhan (Paddy) – Bass, Backing Vocals
Paddy is a guitarist / bassist who started his career in music initially as a hobby in 1992 playing in local bands and never looked back since then. He has played all over the world with Bollywood stars like Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Mahalakshmi Iyer, Shriram Iyer and various Indian talent hunt winning singers and artists. His major influences are Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Sting, Ritchie Blackmore, Roger Glover, Jimmy Page, Steve Harris and John Entwistle.

Jai – Vocals (English Vocals)
Jai is a classically trained vocalist and is the founder member of Pythagoras and the Right Angles. His powerful voice and good vocal range form the basis of the band‟s vast variety of song selection. His major influences are Ozzy Osbourne, Bruce Dickinson, Mick Jagger, Ian Anderson and David Lee Roth.

Pankaj – Drums
Pankaj is a veteran drummer from Mumbai and is among the top live musicians in India. He has been part of some the finest rock, jazz and hindi outfits in the country. He has played with the likes of Louis Banks and also with many leading Bollywood singers of today. His major influences include John Bonham, Ian Paice, Barriemore Barlow, Stewart Copeland and Keith Moon.

Anoop – Rhythm Guitars, Backing Vocals
Anoop, the latest entrant in the band, started learning the guitar from Sarosh while finishing his degree in Biotechnology. He then went to study music in London from The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP). His accomplished playing skills backed by strong technical abilities, give the band a richer and fuller sound while also increasing the band‟s repertoire in many ways. His major Influences include Steve Morse, Joe Satriani, Guthrie Govan, Steve Vai and John McLaughlin.

Shriram - Flute
Shriram is a flautist with deep rooted classical influences and is a rocker too!!! He performs regularly with his own fusion band called Filter Coffee. His biggest influences in rock are Jethro Tull & Traffic.

‘Soulmate’ performing at Hard Rock Cafe Bangalore on Thursday, January 5th!

If it’s the Blues you want, then Soulmate is what you need!! This band from Shillong has been around for 8 years now playing all over India, the US, Paris, Singapore, Kathmandu. The duo of Tipriti ‘Tips’ Kharbangar and Rudy Wallang can sing and play the Blues like no one else can. You’ve got to see and hear them to believe it!!

SOULMATE Inspired by the roots and groove sounds of the Blues,Blues-rock,Soul,Rock ‘n Roll, Funk and R&B,SOULMATE came together in Shillong,in February 2003 playing their first concert at the ‘Roots Festival at the Water Sports Complex in Umiam. Since then the band has performed many concerts all over The Northeast as well as in different parts of India. They have also performed at the International Jazzmandu Festival in Kathmandu for three years...2004, 2005 and 2009.

Anyone with an interest in the western music scene in India will recognize singer/songwriter Rudy Wallang, who leads this tight knit musical unit. Born into music, he grew up listening to his father Toto Wallang making music and he started singing and playing the ukulele at a very tender age eventually graduating to the guitar. Today, Rudy is one of the foremost singer / songwriter / blues guitar players in the country with a long musical history having been part of the well known blues rock acts, Great Society & Mojo.

The beautiful and talented vocalist and rhythm guitarist of SOULMATE is Tipriti ‘Tips’ Kharbangar who has earned a name as one of the finest female singers to have emerged out of Shillong and India as a whole! If there is one thing Tip’s is happy doing it is singing and reflecting this, she vocalizes with a joy and exuberance that is unmatched and original. She started out singing gospel songs at the local church choir and is now drawn to the Blues, Soul, Jazz and listens to Aretha Franklin, Billy Holliday, Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Nina Simone and B.B.King, Van Morrison, Jimmy Hall, Susan Tedeschi.
They have released 2 albums, the first being ‘SHILLONG’ and the 2nd Album,’ MOVING ON” was released by Blue Frog Records in June 2009. Soulmate have played numerous gigs all over India as well as in Kathmandu, France(Billy Bobs' in Disneyland Village), USA(23rd and 26th INTERNATIONAL BLUES CHALLENGES for 2007&2010 as well as in Colorado and Rhode Island) and in Singapore(MOSAIC MUSIC FESTIVAL). They are looking forward to touring Europe and Canada sometime in the middle of this year.

Tips recently won the BEST FEMALE VOCALIST for 2009, in the recently concluded Jack Daniels Rock Awards and Rudy won the BEST GUITAR PLAYER for 2009.
When often asked by people, why they chose the Blues…their answer has been…”we didn’t choose the Blues…..the Blues chose us”!

Soulmate would like to use their talent not only to entertain, but also to help society in whatever way they can, through their music. Vyacheslav Mikhailovich Molotov was a Soviet politician and diplomat, a leading figure in the Soviet government from the 1920s to 1957, He was a major perpetrator of the Great Terror and the principal Soviet signatory of the Nazi-Soviet non-aggression pact of 1939 as well as post-war negotiations. The Molotov cocktail was named after him by the Finnish military during the Winter War. Molotov is considered to be one of the principle architects of the Ukrainian genocide, or Holodomor.

Well we are nothing like him but more like the incendiary weapon named after him . While not playing music together we spend a lot of time playing golf, white water rafting, tennis, skydiving, boxing …ECT on the Nintendo wii. Another passion of ours is food which can be witnessed when we are unleashed at a full meals restaurant in Chennai and our respect for women can only be understood by women… of course on a one on one basis. Well that’s Molotov Cocktail in a few words. For more you have to come and watch us perform.

Molotov is a Versatile Band, that plays for Corporate Shows, specialized Jazz Shows and Rock shows . The Band is Run by Members Shaun Roberts, Arjun Thomas and the other members change as per the show requirements.

Molotov Cocktail is known for the variety of music we perform, ranging from Pop to Rock to Blues to Jazz, while the bands first love is Funk.
