Adam & The Fish Eyed Poets perform live on Thursday, 5 July!

The Story So Far

After years of trying to put a band together , Chennai based Singer-Songwriter / Music Nerd, Kishore Krishna came to terms with the fact that his musical ambitions were too overwhelming to impose on the average 20 year old college musician .So in late 2008 he decided to start recording as Adam & the fish eyed poets , a name initially conceived to veil the fact that this was a one- man- bedroom- project but also serve as a tribute to great Existentialist poets of the modern era , and now after having released 2 critically acclaimed, self produced albums, the brooding and intense "Snakeism" (2010) and the streamlined and melancholic "Dead Loops" (2011), Kishore has finally put a band together featuring some of the most talented musicians from the Chennai scene to fully articulate the alternating cathartic and subtly incisive sense of violence in Kishore's unique sound, which he claims is rooted in a volatile balance between the primal sexual energy of the Stax/ Volt era Rhythm and Blues, and the cynical passive aggressive precision of Post Punk acts such as The Smiths , Elvis Costello, and The Cure.

“Krishna’s first album is profound as it is simple , with an eclectic mix of songs that range from pop to industrial ,what stands out, though is the lyrics , oten dark and intense with subtle hint of violence.”
–Economic Times (madras plus)
“Krishna’s piercing insight and caustic wit make this repository of gloom an ideal one. stylistically diverse and with oodles of wit .The ugly and twisted irony of life sustains his verse on snakeism”
- Rolling stone India

“Adam & the fish eyed poets is massivly innovative and with SNAKEISM Krishna has managed to make an album that’s enormously available yet lock ,stock and barrell unconventional”
-Rock Street Journal
