'Agam' performing at HRC Hyderabad on Thursday, December 22nd!

Agam is a contemporary carnatic rock act from Bangalore, India. The band derives its name from the ancient tamil word “agam” which translates to the “inner self” in English. AGAM's music encapsulates the boundless, vibrant emotions of the human psyche. It explores, depicts and contemplates these countless aspirations and sentiments of the inner self.

Their music combines the myriad hues of melodic scales and intricate rhythm structures offered by carnatic music with the aesthetic principles and tonal elegance from western world. Their music also reflects the soulfulness in sufi music and the power of rock.

Agam was chosen as the best band in South India by Oscar Award winning Indian musician - A R Rahman

BAND MEMBERS:

Harish Sivaramakrishnan - vox/violin
A trained carnatic musician and a violinist, Harish is the lead vocalist for Agam.
With his interest spanning across the myriad forms of music ranging from carnatic to
Hindustani to ghazals to sufiyana to asian underground, his compositions are an amalgamation of carnatic raagas with complex rhythm structures and time signatures
that define the character of Agam's music.

Harish has several years of experience as a solo musician and a studio artiste and has lent voice for innumerable radio jingles. With his soulful rendering, Harish has an innate talent to add creative dimensions to a song without altering the intended theme and the expressions at ease.

A R Rahman called his singing "Really fantastic!"

Ganesh Ram - Drums/vox
Ganesh is a self taught Percussionist. Ganesh's playing style is subtle & aesthetic
with an incredible abililty to play complex beat cycles with panache.
Ganesh grew up on a staple diet of south indian music and indian fusion, which shaped
his playing style which borrows heavily from the rhythm structures of south indian classical percussion instruments.

Ganesh also brings to the band his expertise as a live musician from the innumerable
stage shows that he has performed across India for many years."

Praveen Kumar - Guitar
Praveen (TPK) is the youngest member of the band. He is best known for
his unique chord patterns and the heavy distortion leads with a refreshing carnatic
hue. A modest and simple guy, Praveen is the key behind the rich and rounded
backgrounds and interludes that defines the signature Agam sound.
Apart from Guitars he is also a highly accomplished keyboardist & a hardcore Iron Maiden fan.

Suraj Satheesh - Acoustic Rhythm Guitars
Suraj brings in the refined acoustic texture to the compositions of Agam. Gifted with
nimble fingers, Suraj plays complex patterns with unmatched clarity without pedals. Despite his zen like mannerisms and calm demenour, Suraj can belt out mean leads that will keep you spellbound.
His motto - keep it clean & acoustic.

Swamy Seetharaman - Keys
Musician, poet, Keyboardist, Band manager – Swamy likes to don multiple
hats at the same time and does the same with un-paralleled panache.
An avid music lover with fascination for raaga’s and scales, Swamy is that key entity
that makes the music of Agam tick. An extremely talented poet, Swamy pens the lyrics for all the compositions of Agam.

Vignesh Laxminarayanan - bass/vox
Vignesh is the bass guitarist of Agam. A big enthusiast of jazz-style of playing
the bass guitar, he idolizes Victor Wooten. As a composer, he wishes to take Indian
classical music to a western paradigm by using ragas to produce complex musical schemes. A very progressive musician, Vignesh’s primary interest is in bringing out new musical flavors through unconventional beat patterns and meters. He is a thorough and an unbiased critic of music, a lucid thinker and a keen listener"

Shiva Nagarajan - percussions
Siva brings in immense value to the Rhythm sections and he can play a variety
of percussion instruments with precision. His vast experience in music significantly
influences agam’s music productions. Siva has accompanied renowned musicians like L.Subramaniam & has extensively toured the world..

'RLA' performing at HRC Hyderabad on Thursday, December 8th!

"Music is a higher revelation than philosophy."

A group of like minded musicians came together and thought that they could share their talents to create a musical outfit. No sooner did the notes hit right, there was an events horizon with a sparkling radiance of warmth and a foreseeable longstanding camaraderie.

A few rehearsals were enough to baptize this as, Retro Legendary Act, only to mean that the music that emanates from the souls of these musicians sound rich and logical to one and all.

Endeavoring to typecast this band is futile as there has been an extensive and exhaustive thought put into this taking into consideration the likes and dislikes of the English music loving crowd and songs that would be liked and enjoyed by music lovers from all walks of life.

Saying this, the band is now on the edge of the stage, all ready to walk on, and exhale its energy in a prismatic radiance, but only after the chemistry bonded well after 3 months of strenuous rehearsals.

THE BAND

Retro Legendary Act comprises of:
Vijay – vocalist for the band (powerful enough to be heard in a stadium without mics). Hailing from a rich musical past, Vijay has been delivering music for the musical masses for over 2 decades.
Ritesh (lead guitars) – uses Samick, and Ibanez guitars coupled with a Zoom and Digitek run through a Marshall amp.
Selvin (bass guitar) – uses a Yamaha bass (even belts out great melodies on a fretless bass if required)

Hrishi– uses a crisp sounding drum kit and can thunderstruck with his lightening solos.
Sourabh (keys) - adept at belting out a variety of musical forms. Uses a Korg Triton and can be a killer on the Hammond forms of backups.

The musical richness of the band and the logically sculpted song list can set the stage on fire with their act and so, Retro Legendary Act can belt out for you numbers comprising of reggae, soft rock, pop-rock, blues, rock'n'roll and even hard rock too….
Now RLA is also known for their originals. Would play couple of them in concert.

Here’s Retro Legendary Act bringing you the best served musical cuisine to satisfy your music appetite.

'Zedde' performing at HRC Hyderabad on Thursday, December 1st!

In mid 2008, singer 2Blue and guitar player Claver got together to form Zedde. A li’l over a year later, their first single ‘Mumbai’ won the prestigious ‘Anthem of the Year’ title at the world’s largest indie music awards: AVIMA 2010. Zedde attributes this recognition to their undying passion to perform original music while carrying forward the legacy of their hard rock predecessors. Their songs are now available for purchase on iTunes and Amazon, and are fast gaining popularity as caller tunes on the Indian cellular network [sms ZEDDE to 54646 for details]. Let’s just say it is their inimitable style of music that entitles Zedde as Mumbai's best shot at the resurgence of Rock N' Roll. Stay tuned.

2Blue – Vocals

2Blue is a dynamite on stage. With influences of Ian Gillan, Joey Tempest, and Gary Cherone, he has enthralled fans wherever he has performed. In the words of his fans, "That voice is liquid gold!"

Claver – Guitar
It took two decades of obsessive practice and the influences of Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and Paul Gilbert to transform Claver into the guitar virtuoso that he is today. Watch him play. Enrich your life.

Akashdeep – Bass
Akashdeep’s influences, from Billy Sheehan to Jaco Pastorius, have brought a new dimension to Zedde. Also a fine guitar player and vocalist, he has more surprises up his sleeve than meets the eye.

Trevor – Drums
Influences of Alex Van Halen and Dave Lombardo are unmistakable in Trevor's playing which boasts his command over odd-time phrasing. It's a wonder that he's a drummer only by accident.

'Five 8 - Tribute To The Doors' at HRC Delhi on Thursday, December 29th!

Five8 was created in the summer of 2005 in New Delhi. Beginning as a college band at Delhi University, Five8 performed extensively within the Indian college circuit, playing many college shows and competitions. With this impetus, the members of the band Adhir, Aveleon, Robin, Shiv and Steve decided to take the band forward professionally in 2008, consciously writing and performing their own music.

With influences ranging from glam rock to soul, progressive music to pop, Five8’s work resonates through a constantly evolving city life, running parallel and colliding with concrete construction, scorching temperatures, traffic jams, insatiable appetites, and just some plain wishful thinking.

Five8’s music tells their story from within, and by stepping outside of the emerging
Indian independent music milieu, using this apparent challenge to create Five8’s unique sound. The band releases its first self-titled EP July 2010 featuring six original tracks, original band artwork and a range of merchandise. In the future, the band hopes to continue writing and performing, and to allow their music to lead them further. As a part of the dynamic ‘Indian Indie’, Five8 believes that this is the time in India to let your music speak. “Life gives you one shot, there are no retakes” (Believe, Five8, 2009).

'Raeth' performing at HRC Delhi on Thursday, December 15th!

Genre: Pop Rock
Members: Wajhi Farooq (Vocalist)
Farabi Hasan(Musical Director/ Lead Guitarist)

"Raeth" means Sand according to hindi/urdu or shifting sands according to the Pakistani Band "Raeth" itself. This band is basically from the city of Karachi, Pakistan and has released an album in India following bands like Jal, Strings and others.

Raeth’s smash hits Bhula Do and Tumharay Liye have positioned Raeth as one of the best new rock bands in Pakistan and India.

Now Raeth is making a massive push for the rest of its debut album.

Raeth’s story: Birth to international fame in four months

Pre-launch in Pakistan

Raeth launched its first video Bhula Do in June, 2006, in Pakistan. The video was well received on the Pakistani TV music channels and on FM radio. But few could imagine the band’s stellar rise over the next six months.

Launch across India by the world’s largest music label

In September, 2006, Raeth was launched across India by Universal Music India, the Indian subsidiary of Universal Music—the world’s largest music label.

Universal Music India picked Raeth out of new Pakistani bands proposed in May, 2006, by DreamStation Productions. Universal selected Raeth on hearing only three of the songs recorded till then: Bhula Do, Tumharay Liye (Bheegay Say Gaisu) and Dur Jag Ka Tara. Raeth recorded the rest of the debut album with DreamStation by July and arrived in Mumbai for the launch in September.

The next big thing from Pakistan after Junoon, Strings and Jal

Universal Music India headlined Raeth as the next big thing from Pakistan in the footsteps of Junoon, Strings and Jal. The comprehensive launch campaign included media appearances (MTV India, Channel V India, Star Plus, CNN, etc.), newspaper interviews (Hindustan Times, Indian Express, Mumbai Mirror, etc.), performances and album signings plus a high-intensity performance for noted music and film industry personalities at the chic Mumbai club ‘Squeeze’.
