Overhung is Sujit Kumar on vocals, Howard Pereira on guitars, Krishna Kumar Venkitachalam on bass and Sheldon Dixon on drums.
While all the 4 musicians have been playing with various established bands over the years, it was just natural that their paths crossed and one fine day they decided to Jam. All it took was that One jam and they already had a composition ready, with 2 more in the pipeline. Having already hit the studios a couple of Jams later, the foursome have now decided to come out and play live.
The wide array of musicial influences that exist within the band will be seen live onstage with their vast repertoire that cover Alternative Rock, Funk, Grunge and Blues.
The band, in 3 months of inception, have played 2 Hard Rock Cafe gigs and 2 Huge Corporate gigs (Kenwood U.K. and MAERSK-Denmark) playing the same brand of music. They also have quite a few Original compositions that they play live besides covering come of their favourite Indian bands.

The Indian sub-continent over the past decade has been nestling an independent music scene, and in 2009 Bangalore gave us SOLDER. Siddarth Abraham, Mark Escottee, Akhilesh Kumar, Joel Rozario and Samson Phillip got together by forces which they now like to call destiny, and started making music almost randomly, and Bangalore saw a band that played their music “Live and Loud” and contributing their two bits to the independent music movement on India.
With a line-up at equilibrium and a defined sound, the gigs and the competitions (runners up Strawberry Fields 2009, Bangalore Winners of Yamaha Asian Beats 2010, Bangalore Winners of Channel V Launchpad 2011) kept coming and with it Solder developed a reputation of being electric, energetic and fun on stage. The Solder show is like one big party, completely informal, with the feel good vibe, bringing the house down with funk, soul, rock and twenty-something energy. And with this passion for music and their ability to connect with their audiences, Solder started winning over fans at every gig they’ve played, and made audiences feel the vibe that they call “Live and Loud”!!
Often described as a unit of five drifters glued together by music, Solder was born with the intent of writing feel good songs, and belting them out “Live and Loud”. Their story started when two friends Mark Escottee and Joel Rozario, who then just disbanded a funk project they were part of, got together over a few drinks (or maybe a few more) and started talking about their music, and the need to start a new music project, which was to be later known to the world as Solder. They were joined by Akhilesh Kumar, a friend from University. Then one day Akhilesh got with him his kickboxing instructor Siddarth Abraham who had fronted a few bands that had their roots in classic rock to the jam room and Sid belted out whatever was written till then in his voice, the voice was awesome, the chemistry was super, and all systems were go, but they still lacked the low end or more commonly called the bass section. This was soon solved when Joel saw Samson Phillip at a local gig and invited him over to the jam room, when he came by we got our very own agent of funk and the line-up was complete. And might we add, PERFECT.
Now with all the varied influences bouncing off each other, Solder slowly created a sound space underlined by groove and layered with vocal melodies and harmonies, accompanied by screaming guitar licks and reverb laden drum sounds.
With their debut album in the pipeline, SOLDER will try and re-create the “Live and Loud” vibe on record, and when it does release we can all play it on loop and smile, and make the world a happy place.

One hot summer night, nine years ago, a couple of friends got together and penned down their thoughts into music. What they never realized was that it was the making of one of the most sought after and revered bands in India - menwhopause.
The band, which soon grew to five members, was literally forced by its bunch of dedicated supporters and believers to push the music they were producing in an abandoned warehouse out into the open.
THE JOURNEY
An EP titled The Story Begins was launched in 2003 under the band's own label "the middle earth company." The songs found international airplay, including BBC London, and climbed on to top 10 ranks on international mp3 sites.
Ever since, menwhopause has been slowly but steadily setting benchmarks in India's music scene most importantly as being one of the first bands to have stuck to playing only original music and concentrating on the art of songwriting.
Their vision to become a well known Indian band in the international rock music industry came to fruition with the international release of their debut concept album Home by the middle earth company in August 2006.
menwhopause’s first international live performance was at the world's biggest independent music festival, the prestigious South by Southwest [SXSW] in Austin, Texas, in March 2007 and officially sponsored by Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Government of India.
They are also the first rock band from India that was found commercially viable by promoters in US and were invited for a month long extensive tour of Texas, along with other bands from Iran, Germany, Britain, Mexico, Scandinavia, etc. in early 2008.
The eminent jury of musicians and industry veterans at the Jack Daniels Poll 2008, declared menwhopause as ‘India’s top rock band’ and were presented an award in April 2008 followed by their performance at the Jack Daniel’s Legendary Mash festival in Nashville, Tennessee

In mid 2008, singer 2Blue and guitar player Claver got together to form Zedde. The Other People is a Mumbai - based band who formed seven years ago, when an enterprising group of musicians came together. The band saw early success and stood out in the crowd, aptly calling themselves ‘The Other People’. The band performs renditions of popular songs of artists from the late 1950s right up to the 2000s.
They have started composing their own music and in the process of recording the same.
The band debuted with a frenzied night of classic rock and rock and roll at Not Just Jazz By The Bay, Mumbai in July 2004. Jam packed shows and many rehearsals later, The Other People had Mumbai’s nightlife abuzz and became hugely popular for their Rock and Roll renditions. Qualified Soft Rock, Retro and Rock and Roll as their distinguishable genre. With Reggae and Blues coming a close second, the band has a wide audience and fan following of people aged anything between 16 and 60 plus, and more often than not, the band ensures that they ‘dance till they drop!’ Known to bring an original twist into each track, the band never fails to surprise an audience and has them hooked.

Lounge Piranha is an alternative rock/post-rock band from Bangalore. Formed in 2005 and having gigged heavily around India since then, Piranha now has a large (and growing) community of fans and regular listeners around the country. From guitars and drums to didgeridoos and djembes, and a short wave radio to a band comic, Lounge Piranha is always evolving into new spaces and sounds. In late 2008, the band released their much awaited debut album Going Nowhere (rated #4 by Rolling Stone magazine for releases in India that year) and followed it up with a pioneering 6-city tour around India on their own tour bus. After an extended break post the tour, the band has returned with an altered lineup and begun new musical explorations which will presumably find their way into the next album expected in 2011.

Bob Dylan (born Robert Allen Zimmerman; May 24, 1941) is an American singer- songwriter, poet, and painter. He has been a major figure in music for five decades. Much of his most celebrated work dates from the 1960s when he was an informal chronicler, and an apparently reluctant figurehead, of social unrest. Though he is well-known for revolutionizing perceptions of the limits of popular music in 1965 with the six-minute single "Like a Rolling Stone," a number of his earlier songs such as "Blowin' in the Wind" and "The Times They Are a-Changin'" became anthems for the US civil rights and anti-war movements. His early lyrics incorporated a variety of political, social and philosophical, as well as literary influences.
