THE OTHER PEOPLE PERFORMING LIVE AT HARD ROCK MUMBAI ON THURSDAY, 1st APRIL!!

About six years ago, a talented, enterprising group of musicians came together to form what set out to be one of Mumbai’s most acclaimed bands. Indeed, the band saw early success and stood out in the crowd, aptly calling themselves ‘The Other People’. The band debuted with a frenzied night of Classic Rock and Rock n’ Roll at Not Just Jazz By The Bay, Mumbai in July 2004. Jam packed shows and many rehearsals later, The Other People had Mumbai’s nightlife abuzz and became hugely popular for their Rock n’ Roll renditions. Edgy and experimental, the band’s move into covering classic artists such as Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, Neil Diamond, Frank Sinatra, Louis Amstrong, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, The Doors, Bon Jovi, U2, Bob Marley, Billy Joel, Billy Idol, Police, Status Quo, The Eagles, Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, B.B. King, Bee Gees etc; qualified Soft Rock, Retro and Rock n’ Roll as The Other People’s distinguishable genre. With Reggae and Blues coming a close second, the band has a wide audience and fan following of people aged anything between 16 and 60 plus, and more often than not, the band ensures that they ‘dance till they drop!’

Known to bring an original twist into each track, the band never fails to surprise an audience and has them hooked. Committed to quality music and entertainment extraordinaire, The Other People have innumerable shows under their belt and continue to wow crowds at Mumbai’s hotspots including the Hard Rock CafĂ© and Blue Frog. Along with these big clubs, the band has performed at the world – renowned ‘Lakme India Fashion Week’ Finale After Party in November 2008, the prestigious Terry Fox Marathon After Party, the launch of ‘Absolut Vodka’s Rock Edition’ and at a party hosted by one of India’s biggest and most respected Fashion Designers – Mr. Wendell Rodricks. Unstinting talent and a passion to perform drives the band to persistently raise the bar and endeavor to deliver something unique each time. Of course, being from India, the band adds its own little Indian flavour to each song they perform which makes them stand out and be different from the other Retro cum Rock n’ Roll bands around the world!

JOSHUA TREE PERFORMING LIVE AT HARD ROCK HYDERABAD ON THURSDAY, 1st APRIL!!

Joshua Tree was formed on a sunny Saturday afternoon early March 2009.
It was a coming together of good friends to revive the good and happy music which they grew up on.
Joshua Tree is a very resilient tree which can survive for hundreds of years and thrives even in arid desert conditions. Hence, the band decided to name themselves Joshua Tree because it best reflects their attitude and ability to thrive even in difficult circumstances.

Joshua Tree believes in doing positive and happy guitar based music. While they primarily play Rock music, their varied tastes enable them to shift seamlessly across various other genres. This holds good even in their original compositions.

Joshua Tree is a new act but the musicians are in no way novices. Having played individually with various other line-ups, they come together with years of stage experience to their credit. With talent, skill and a passion for music, they are a force to reckon with.

SOMETHING RELEVANT LIVE AT HARD ROCK MUMBAI ON TUESDAY, 30th MARCH!!

Something Relevant is a ‘jamband’ from Mumbai consisting of an eclectic seven member ensemble. STR’s music is an amalgamation of a variety of musical styles. The band’s influences range from jazz and R&B to hip-hop and heavy metal. This infusion has evolved into STR’s "sound".

The live experience gives the band a collective adrenaline rush. "We play for the audience, we connect with them. It’s essential" says Stuart. The band plays these songs differently each time. STR likes to toy around with their material and generally have fun at shows, sometimes mixing songs together and changing things around. The players communicate on stage and sometimes interesting things happen.

OCEAN COLOUR SCENE

We bring great tidings. Birmingham’s emperors of rock’n’folk Ocean Colour Scene are back with their ninth studio album. Simply put, the band that knocked Oasis’ Be Here Now off the top spot, prompting Noel Gallagher to send them a plaque engraved with the inscription: ‘To The Second Best Band In Britain’ need no further introduction. As they approach their 21st anniversary together, Birmingham’s emperors of rock’n’folk Ocean Colour Scene remain as sincere and passionate about music as they were when they first came together in the early ‘90’s. Back then, with their Breton shirts and Beat Club haircuts, they were at the vanguard of a new generation of bands determined to shake off ‘80’s miserablism and get, well, a piece of the action.

Little did anyone know that by the release of their second album Moseley Shoals in April 1996, OCS would be bonafide rock stars, their intuitive grasp of pop dynamics on hits like “The Riverboat Song” and “The Day We Caught The Train” leaving an indelible print on the zeitgeist (Moseley Shoals stayed on the charts for eighteen months). Follow up Marchin’ Already (released in September 1997) even knocked Oasis’ Be Here Now off the top spot.

Ocean Colour Scene recently released their ninth studio album, entitled Saturday. In the two years since 2007’s On The Leyline – described by Uncut as their “career best” – they’ve played with thrash metal bands in Korea, stolen the show at this year’s ‘V’ (where they were named ‘Band Of The Festival’ by Radio 2 and Absolute Radio) and are just off a debut show in Dubai.

LUKE KENNY

Though Luke Kenny has been around for a while, and has assumed various roles in his life, after his role in Rock On (2008) he is immediately associated with the keyboardist that he played in the film. Some people still associate him with Channel V. Few know of his rock band. And there are even fewer who know that he has Directed a feature film!

JAMES WALSH

James Walsh is the front man to the critically acclaimed Starsailor, who have sold more than 3 million albums since their 2001 debut album Love Is Here. Since then they have grown a legion of fans through their amazing live performances. In the last two years Starsailor have toured the world including supporting the Rolling Stones, The Police, U2 and The Killers. James has recently started working on his own solo material and is excited to be back in the studio.

They never thought chilling could be so productive. Bradley (Ex-Thrice9) and Rohan (Ex-Something Relevant) soon found themselves singing and playing guitar together as they formed an acoustic duo. Aditya (Rosemary) and Adil (The SOS) soon joined them to move their sound in a direction in which they saw it going. This lead to what is called 'The colour compound'. Fresh and with a few shows lined up, they hope to see you there, as they have moments and melodies they'd love to share.
