THE MAVYNS AND SUPERSONICS LIVE AT HARD ROCK MUMBAI ON TUESDAY, 2nd FEBRUARY!!

THE MAVYNS
The guys were in Bombay going through their mundane jobs. Something hit them and they decided to quit their day jobs to go to Goa to record a demo album and gig at local pubs and bars. Pradeep was reading a biography of The Beatles and by the end of it he decided, “If the Beatles can have their Hamburg, I damn well can have my Goa.”
They had no bassist, but a friend in Goa agreed to take on the duties. They bought an Analog Mixer from Lamington Road and a bunch of Ahuja microphones and were off. They drove to Goa in the official band car affectionately known as "Keeda", owing to the fact that the Maruti 800 is pretty much the VW Beetle equivalent, here in India.
The Mavyns set up shop at the Kris’ place, a beautiful 100-year-old Portuguese bungalow. Using bamboo sticks as mic stands and a classic 'Goan' ambient noise, they recorded 12 demos, all original music. Wanting to keep the sound as raw as possible, there was no tracking of any kind. The demo album’s name is 'Socegado Sessions'.
After recording the demos and playing their first ever gig in Goa at Cafe Infantaria, Kris headed back to Bombay. Pradeep and Vivek headed up to Arambol, where they giged for 3 months at local pubs and shacks on the beach. The season ended and they made their way back to good ole' Bombay. They were short of bass guitarist, as their bassie from Goa decided to stay back. After a month or two of looking for a replacement, they finally settled with Vivek's brother Varoon, who agreed although never having played bass before. The Mavyns were complete and ready to work on new material.

SUPERSONICS
Ugly, dirty and ultra-talented, The Supersonics crashed the Calcutta music scene with a high voltage performance at a crowded little bar called Someplace Else. Formed in 2006, their defiant anthems have already earned them an anti-gravity cult status. Geared with a toothpaste fresh sound and a dangerous stage presence, it would be wrong to call The Supersonics a band. They are a milk-drinking, vitamin-popping call to arms. They are a shiny new revolution.
